Blog

  • Welcome to the New Site!

I decided to “work smarter not harder” and build a site using modern WordPress. This is purely to ease the load of hand-crafting a site for both the main site and my own subdomain, having to implement blogging features and uploading content from a private page. Oh, and also the new shop homepage, so there’s that as well. 🙂 Look forward to seeing merch from sakuramori and Y2KK! If this all goes well, more to come in the future. Shoutouts to Mads for helping with the color palette.

  • MagiMura ‘Dressing Room’ Demo

    Hey hi !

It’s finally here. The first demo of the long-awaited game, MagiMura. Right now it’s just a character creator, but this is the first major milestone to working on this game. Now that I have the models all done, a bunch of customisation options, and some animations, I can finally share with everyone an exciting new look into the direction of the game.

This demo is really simple: the left panel holds options for your physical appearance, and the right panel holds options for fashion, and in the middle you can rotate the character, take screenshots, and exit the game.

This demo represents just a small taste of what you can expect in the full game, with more customisation to come. Look forward to things like cosmetics such as hats, masks, eyeglasses, and more. And of course being able to play the game in a vertical slice ! This means the game will have all (or most) of its features, and just needs its content filled out. A vertical slice will take a long time in and of itself, but hopefully nowhere near as long as from the last Mori update and now. I hope to be able to give new experiences in between then and now. Maybe some house customisation demos are in order ?

Thank you all for your support. See you next time !

  • Fixed Up The Site

Well, after way too long, the site has finally been re-updated and fixed up. Behind the scenes, most of the structure is still the same, but now I am utilising more PHP features that I learned while developing terato, the work-in-progress art site I am making with Su

As you can see, this also includes ways to make blogs. Right now, everything is done manually. I have to write these in a stripped-down, extremely basic HTML format. Well, I guess I don’t have to, but it makes things easier. The blog just takes these HTML pages and prints them out in the section module. Neat-o ! This is basically what rich-text editors do behind the scenes anyway, so all I’m really missing is an interface for that.

    What’s next ?

Next up is developing MMT2’s demo yet more. I’m admittedly a little stuck trying to fix UI interaction issues, causing a total halt in developing the rest of the game. If the menus aren’t responsive, the game is unplayable ! Oh no ! I’m doing my best to reach out for solutions, but it almost seems moot. I don’t want to release a half-baked demo, so that is why this has taken so long.

There’s more, though ! Not only will I be mirroring Patreon posts to the site, but I’ve also joined another dev team ! Huzzah ! But to read about that, you’ll have to visit my personal blog. See you there !

  • MagiMura Survey

    Hello gang,

I’ve been hard at work making a proof-of-concept character customisation for MagiMura (known formerly as ‘Mori’). Before I can continue though, I need your help ! I need to know what skins people want to see come to the base game. To do that, I’ve made a simple Google Forms survey. It should only take a minute to fill out.

Once I have everything complete, I’ll give everyone a fun toy to play with before I can make another demo. I hope it’s fun ! More news will come as I wrap things up.

Please fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/pN3dUem3RghnYQ3n9
